Meet Miranda Schubert

Thank you for your interest in my campaign to represent Ward 6 residents on Tucson City Council. I believe that everybody– from the grassroots of mutual aid groups to established nonprofits to local boards and commissions– should be working together to find solutions to the urgent issues we face.
Through my work over the years organizing around housing and transit issues, I know that Ward 6 voters have many different opinions. As your representative on the City Council, I will always strive to be a leader who listens thoughtfully to all perspectives, communicates openly, and prioritizes our community. I have a public track record of building diverse coalitions while also staying true to core values and the greater good. I will continue to stand firm in these values as your Ward 6 representative and I will be a collaborative and principled voice on Tucson City Council.

This is the second time I’m running for Tucson City Council – thank you if you supported our 2021 campaign! Motivated by organizing UCWAZ - CWA Local 7065, I decided to run in 2021 to make Tucson safer, more welcoming, and affordable by focusing on how public dollars are invested in the community and public infrastructure. While progress has been made on these issues, there’s still a lot of work that needs to be done.

Since running for office in 2021, I have continued listening to your priorities for Tucson and digging into local issues. I have spent years advocating for the working families of Tucson by championing safe streets for all, affordable housing, and fare-free public transit. I’m running again because I want to work with you to develop thoughtful solutions to the challenges our community faces and I want to put everything I’ve learned as a community organizer and city commissioner to work for you.
